Hawaiian Electric wants to help our customers who are interested in considering solar systems become more knowledgeable and make informed decisions.
Solar energy is a clean and renewable resource that can be used to heat water or produce electricity with the installation of a solar water heater or photovoltaic (PV) system. It can help save money on your monthly electric bill, contribute to a cleaner environment by reducing the amount of fuel used to make electricity, and can increase the value of your home. Solar water heating systems can last 15 years or longer and PV systems can last for 30 years or longer.

Statement from the Hawaii Solar Energy Association (HSEA)
Founded in 1977, the Hawaii Solar Energy Association (HSEA) is one of the oldest Solar Energy non-profit organizations in the nation. The majority of our members are locally owned and operated, making HSEA the leading voice of Hawaii's solar industry. In support of Hawaii's Energy Independence initiative, the HSEA works directly with utilities, government agencies and legislators to create green jobs for Hawaii's economy and renewable energy sector.
The HSEA and the Hawaiian Electric companies have been long term partners in creating Solar Energy systems that would allow a sustainable future for Hawaii.
