Kahuku High School

Kahuku High School is the ninth school on Oahu to receive a Sun Power for Schools photovoltaic (PV) system. Installed on the rooftop of the cafeteria building on October 25, 2000, this system produces AC current directly from each panel.

System details: 

 • 

Two kilowatts (kW) rated peak

 • 

Eight 4 x 6 foot AC modules weighing 122 pounds each (Manufacturer: Ascension, Type: SunSine 300)

 • 

AC disconnection switch

 • 

Ascension SunSine integrated inverter on each module (AC output from each module)

 • 

Data acquisition system (Data collection can be monitored and analyzed by students as part of integrated renewable energy lessons.)
